Men's and Women's Soccer Get Involved Locally

For the second year in a row Johnson State College women’s soccer has participated in the World Soccer Festival held at Lamoille Union High School on August 23d. This year, the women's team was joined by men's soccer team who was, eager to get involved and leave their mark.

Seventeen Johnson soccer players volunteered as referees for the the 3v3 World Cup matches matches that children in 2nd - 8th grade participated in. World Soccer Festival serves as an interactive community building event to celebrate the cultural experience inspired by soccer,  the sport that lies at the heart of nations across the world.

Participants engaged in multicultural and multi-sensory celebration of soccer and culture including a Capoeira demonstration and live music and food from different parts of the world.

Both the men's and women's teams kicked off their season at the Norwich Cadet Classic and the women will play their home opener on Tuesday, Sept. 9th at 4:00pm against Curry College.
