2010-11 Johnson State Men's and Women's Basketball Preview

Senior captains Robert Key (left) and Ian Passino will lead the Johnson State Badgers into their 2010-11 campaign

Sixth-year Head Coach Michael Osborne will look to seven returners and seven newcomers to build chemistry quickly and improve on last season's 9-17 season.  JSC had a strong February in 2009-10 winning five of six in a crucial stretch in conference play to earn a tie for fifth place.  JSC fell in the North Atlantic Conference First Round to #3 seed Thomas.

Back are a trio of seniors with plenty of experience in guard Ian Passino (Peru, N.Y./Peru), swingman Robert Key (New Britain, Conn./New Britain), and forward Victor Abass (Sudan/Bothell, Wash./Cedar Park Christian).  Passino is the leading returning scorer (11.1 ppg) and will move to the shooting guard position after handling the point guard duties last season.  Key and Abass both were starters for the majority of season last year and will be looked to for expanded contributions.

Johnson opens their season on the road at Daniel Webster College on Monday, November 15 at 7:30 pm and will play Vermont Technical College in their home-opener on Thursday, November 18 at 7:00 pm.
