Badgers D Key 78-40 Win Over GMC

January 29th, 2011 - (Poultney, Vt.) - The Green Mountain College Eagles fell behind 17-2 at the 11minute mark of the first half and failed to recover, dropping their sixth-consecutive North Atlantic Conference contest 78-40 to the visiting Badgers of Johnson State College.

 

JSC (4-12, 1-5) went 15-of-24 (62.5%) from the floor in the first half and limited GMC (0-10, 0-6) to just five field goals on 25 percent shooting.  The visitors continued to tighten up defensively over the final 20 minutes, forcing 22 turnovers on the evening while grabbing 39 boards to GMC's 18. 

 

13 Badgers scored, with Billy Boyd (Hardwick, Vt.) leading the way with 12 on 6-of 10 shooting.  Cody Camisa (Colchester, Vt.) was the only other player in double figure points, dropping 10 on 2-of-3 shooting from beyond the arc.

 

Kenneth Williams (Fort Meyers, Fla.) and Ben LaCure (Hudson, Mass.) lead the Eagles with 13 and 12 points, respectively. 

 

Both teams return to action Tuesday evening at 8:00 pm.  The Eagles host Lyndon State College while the Badgers head to Castleton.
