JOHNSON, Vt. - JSC first-year forward Cory Chase (Milton, Vt./Milton) has been named North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Rookie of the Week.  Chase was a key contributor in the Badgers 2-1 week last week that included NAC home wins over Green Mountain College and Maine Maritime Academy respectively.

Chase, currently undeclared, averaged five points and five rebounds per contest over the three outings last week while shooting 50% (6-12) from the floor and 75% (3-4) from the free throw line.  The rugged and versatile forward highlighted his week with an 8-point, 7-rebound effort in the 73-53 win over the Mariners on Friday night.  For the season Chase is averaging 6.6 points and 3.8 rebounds while shooting a team-best 54% from the floor and 72% from the free throw line.  He has reached double-figure scoring in five games on the season and has scored a season-high 12 points on three occassions.

Chase and the Badgers return to action on Thursday, January 19 when they host Castleton State College at 5:30 pm.
