Cory Chase Named NAC ROTW in Consecutive Weeks

JOHNSON, Vt. - Johnson State freshman forward Cory Chase (Milton, Vt./Milton) has been recognized as the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive week.

Chase, a currently undeclared, helped the Badgers to a 1-1 week by averaging 11 points and 6.5 rebounds while shooting an eye-popping 91% (10-11) from the floor.  The hard-working Chase scored a team-high 16 points on 5-6 shooting and had nine rebounds in a 106-82 loss to Castleton on Thursday and then scored six points, grabbed four boards, and dished out three assists in a 88-63 win at Green Mountain College on Saturday.

For the year Chase is averaging 7.1 points and 4.1 rebounds and leads the Badgers in field goal percentage at .600 (42-70) while playing in all 16 games.

Chase and the Badgers will play host to New England College on Thursday at 7:30 pm in their next outing, a pivotal North Atlantic Conference tilt for both teams.
