JOHNSON, Vt. - Johnson State College men's basketball student-athlete Asim Khan (Torrance, Calif./Torrance) has been named North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Rookie of the Week.

The transfer sophomore guard helped the Badgers to a 1-1 week by averaging 12.5 points, five rebounds, 2.5 steals and two assists per game and shooting 54% (7-13) from the field and 92% (11-12) from the free throw line.

Khan scored nine points on 4-of-5 shooting helping Johnson to 76-71 win over SUNY Canton on November 20 and then went for a career-best 16 points in addition to nine rebounds in a road loss at Norwich University on November 25.  Khan went 10-for-10 from the line against NU, collected four steals, and dealt out three assists.

For the season Khan 11.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.8 steals per outing while shooting 45% from the field and 91% from the free throw line.

Khan and Johnson will face Vermont Technical College in their next outing at home on Tuesday night at 7:30 pm.
