Men's Basketball Announce Commitment of Malik Moore for 2020-2021 Campaign

JOHNSON, Vt.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's basketball program and Head Coach Miles Smith recently announced an additional commitment for the upcoming 2020-21' season.

Malik Moore has signed the necessary paperwork and will attend NVU-Johnson this upcoming fall. Moore will bring immediate depth to the Badgers frontcourt. Moore comes to NVU-Johnson from Oxon Hill Maryland. Moore competed as a student-athlete at Potomac High School before spending the 2019-20 academic year as a student-athlete at Hagerstown Community College.

During his time at Hagerstown, Moore competed in 30 games for the Hawks while averaging 7.9 points per game and 5.6 rebounds. Moore poured in a career high 19 points in a 92-68 win over Harford Community College on February, 8. Moore and the Hawks emerged as NJCAA D1 Region XX Champions before ultimately losing in the 2020 East District Championship.

When arrived at NVU-Johnson, Moore plans to pursue a degree in Exercise Science with the hopes of working as an athletic trainer. "I chose NVU-Johnson because of the environment. Overall I believe it was the right decision and I am excited to be part of the Badger athletics family."

Head Coach Miles Smith is excited for the addition of Moore and believes he will make an immediate impact for the Badgers. "Malik is a former teammate of Mamadou N'Diaye during their time at Potomac High School. Malik will bring versatility and an immediate impact on both ends of the floor while also adding experience and leadership to our roster. My last conversation with Mamadou was about the addition of Malik and how he was excited to learn and compete with Malik on a regular basis."

Head Coach Miles Smith plans to announce additional commitments in the near future for the upcoming 2020-21' season.
