The VTSU Johnson Men's Basketball program welcomes the addition of Jason Baker to the 2024-25 roster as the fall semester begins. Baker joins the Johnson community most recently from Butler CC and Legacy Early College HS. As a double-threat Shooting Forward / Power Forward, Baker has experience down the home stretch of tournament play, clinching for the Legacy Early College Lions a spot in the championship game with a career high 32-point game alongside a game-winning shot, ultimately claiming the team title. Following his time at Legacy, Baker made a splash at Butler CC where he led the NJCAA in blocks with 130 and the team to a 21-5 record, highlighted by a 26-point game where he shot 59% FG alongside 6 blocks.

"We are very excited in adding a player of Jason's abilities. His past success as a junior college player speaks volumes in his overall talent and, stat-wise, his numbers (15.6 ppg, 9.1 rpg, and 130 blks) places him among one of our top incoming recruits during this staff's tenure at Johnson," said Coach Johnson.
