The Badgers fought hard after an early lead but fell 88-72 to SUNY Delhi on Friday night in a fast-paced matchup at Delhi.

SUMMARY

Johnson came out strong, erasing an early deficit with a 15-7 run highlighted by Niv Barzilay's deep three and Greg Fitzgerald's triple. Joseph Gargiulo's layup and free throw gave Johnson a 30-28 lead, and Jaylen Brown's free throw pushed it to 31-28 with just over five minutes left in the first half. After Barzilay's second three made it 34-32, the Broncos closed the half on a 17-2 run fueled by Abdul-Jaleel Ibrahim and Kai Harvey, sending Johnson into the break trailing 49-36.

SUNY Delhi opened the second half with a 12-2 surge to extend the lead to 61-38 before Johnson battled back behind Mohammed Semega's drives and Gargiulo's scoring, trimming the deficit to 54-73 after a Gargiulo three-pointer. The Badgers finished strong with Semega's late layup and Barzilay's free throws to reach 72 points, but Delhi's drive proved too strong to overcome.
