JOHNSON, Vt. - Johnson State College first-year student-athlete Chance Swafford (North Troy, Vt./North Country) has been named the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) co-Rookie of the Year in a vote by the league's coaches.
Swafford, a Psychology major, played most of the season at #2 singles and helped the Badgers to the NAC East Division Final where they fell to Castleton State College and a 6-6 overall record, 5-3 in the NAC.
Swafford finished the season 7-4 overall in singles play and 9-2 in doubles action. Swafford teamed with Ryan Joy (North Montpelier, Vt./U-32) to go a perfect 8-0 in #1 doubles play.
The Badgers do not have a senior on their 2011 roster will look to Swafford to spur a continued climb up the NAC standings in 2012.
