Badgers Take Individual Titles, Program Best Finishes at NAC Championships

WATERVILLE, ME – The Johnson Track and Field team set a new program standard at the 2025 North Atlantic Conference Championships, wrapping up the regular season with program best team finishes on both the men's and women's teams, finishing fifth (38 pts) and fourth (46.5 pts), respectively.

The meet kicked off with a bang, as junior Eli Wilson took to the stage at high jump, securing an individual title with a mark of 1.93m without a miss leading up to his clinching mark. Riding the high of a strong first day, the team was set to light up the track on day two. Rookie sprinter, Sabree Glover, did that very thing in his first open event, taking the 400m individual crown in a dominant performance, crossing the line 1.05 seconds ahead of the runner-up finisher, claiming Johnson's first track champion in program history. Glover was not finished, wrapping his open performances with a second place finish in the 200m, with a time of 23.84 seconds. The men's relay teams followed suit by snagging 3rd and 4th place finishes in the 4x100m relay (Joshua Barthelemy, Io Binder, Glover, Jonathan Cayole) and 4x400m relay (Glover, Binder, Barthelemy, Wilson).

The women's side put their depth on display, scoring across nine events and setting a program record for championship point totals. Highlighting the team's strength up top, Johnson made their way to the podium across five events, with individual performances by Ida Eames in the 400m hurdles (2nd place finish, 1:16.72 school record), Kali Wooster (2nd place finish, 1:03.86), and Sophia Johnson in the discus (3rd place finish, 31.02m), with relay finishes in the 4x100m (3rd place, Jenna Jones, Olivia Davis, Wooster, Dahlia Maynard) and 4x400m (2nd place, school record, Peyton Fairchild, Eames, Maddie Power, Wooster).

Off the track, the women's team notched five points in the jumps as first year Forest Skillman placed fourth in the long jump with a mark of 4.82m and Eames took 6th in triple jump, with a school record mark of 9.13m. Throws took 9.5 points for Johnson across three events, as Sophia Johnson and Sierra Reed teamed up in the discus (Johnson 3rd with 31.02m and Reed 6th with 24.87m), coupled with individual performances in the shot put (Johnson 6th with 8.83m) and javelin (Reed 5th with 23.83m).

The Badgers continue their championship season Saturday, May 10th and the New England Regional Championships.
