The Vermont State Johnson men's and women's track & field teams turned in a historic day at the SNHU Spring Invitational, posting six school records alongside multiple top-three all‑time marks, competing against a regional field that was stacked with top DII and DIII competition.

SPRINT HIGHLIGHTS

Sophomore Jenna Jones delivered a breakout performance for the Badgers, setting school records in both the 100m and 200m, with times of 13.70 and 14.41. Dahlia Maynard posted times of 14.40 and 30.43, while Dylan Holmes and Chase Matlock followed with 12.28/25.07 and 13.45/27.82, respectively.

Sophomore Olivia Davis posted a strong showing in the hurdles, running a personal best of 19.54.

MID-DISTANCE AND DISTANCE HIGHLIGHTS

The Badgers saw several key personal best performances in the distance events.

  • Kali Wooster added to the record‑breaking day, running a school record in the 800 meters of 2:22.50; a regional qualifying mark and .04 second away from taking the win.
  • Maddie Power, Estella Peterson, and Leighton Fenyus each ran personal bests in the 1500 meters, anchoring the women's middle‑distance group with times of 5:43.17, 5:43.64, and 5:56.57, respectively. The marks by Power and Peterson rank #2 and #3 in Johnson's all-time marks.
  • On the men's side, Jonny Cayole produced a standout effort in the 5000m, breaking a decade old school record with a time of 18:05.03, in his debut at the event.

THROWS HIGHLIGHTS

Johnson's throws group continues to show depth and improvement across multiple events.

  • Sophia Johnson recorded a personal best in the discus of 32.41, leading the Badgers in the event.
  • Aiden Briggs threw a #2 all-time mark in the javelin, posting a 39.23m in his collegiate debut.

RELAY HIGHLIGHTS

Both Johnson relay squads capped the day with record breaking performances, as the women's 4x100m of Olivia Davis, Dahlia Maynard, Jenna Jones, and Shelby Royea ran 55.01 for 6th and their 4x400m of Shelby Royea, Peyton Fairchild, Kali Wooster, and Maddie Power ran a NAC-leading 4:32.77 for 4th.
