JOHNSON, Vt. - Johnson men's cross country runner Brendan Walsh (Killingworth, Conn./Killingworth) has been named North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Rookie of the Week.  This is the second consecutive week a Badger has earned the honor with Steven Lamonde (Hingham, Mass./Hingham) tabbed NAC Rookie of the Week last week.

Walsh was the Badgers top finisher at their own JSC Invitational on Saturday coming in fourth overall in the 48-runner field.  Walsh led the team to a fifth place team finish as Lyndon State College ran to the low team score of 24 with Colby-Sawyer College coming in second with 47.

Walsh, an Outdoor Education major, has been Johnson's fastest finisher in the two races he has participated.

Johnson cross country will run in the Vermont State Intercollegiate Cross Country Championships on Saturday at Lyndon State College in their next outing.
