JOHNSON, Vt. - First-year Johnson State College men's cross country student-athlete Brendan Walsh (Killingworth, Conn./Killingworth) has been named North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Rookie of the Week for the second time.

Walsh helped lead the Badgers to a sixth place team finish at the Runnin' Monks Invitational on Saturday by finishing fifth overall individually in the 82-participant race in a time of 29:55.  Walsh helped Johnson to a team score of 144 tying them for sixth place in the 11-team race.

Walsh's top five finish was his second of the season and second in his last three races as he and the Badgers continue to prepare for the North Atlantic Conference Championships on Saturday, October 27 at New England College in Henniker, N.H.

Walsh and the Badgers will run at the GMC Invitational on Saturday, October 13 in their final tune-up for the championships.
