Caitlin Mackey Tabbed NAC Player of the Week
JOHNSON, Vt. - March 28, 2011 - Johnson State
College sophomore utility player Caitlin Mackey (St.
Albans, Vt./BFA-St. Albans) has been named the North
Atlantic Conference Player of the Week for her efforts in helping
the Badgers to a split at Bay Path College on Saturday; a 15-6 loss
and a 15-13 win in the nightcap.
Mackey, a Wellness and Alternative Medicine major, had a tremendous effort at the plate for Johnson in the set of games hitting .833 (5-of-6), scoring four runs, driving in two runs, walking twice, and stealing two bases. Mackey drove in a run and scored the game-tying run in a seventh inning rally in the second game of the doubleheader, the eventual 15-13 JSC win.
Johnson State softball is scheduled to return to the diamond for a home doubleheader on Wednesday, April 6 against Green Mountain College at 3:30 pm.
