GAME 1:  Johnson 7, Green Mountain 4

In game one, Johnson State raced out to a 6-0 lead before Green Mountain scored four runs in the top of the fourth to close the gap.  The Badgers would get an important insurance run in the bottom of the fifth and hold on to win 7-4.

Pitcher Meagan Russ (Burlington, Vt.) scattered four hits over seven innings and allowed only one earned run while striking out five to pick up the win for Johnson State.  GMC's Emma Lord (Greenville, N.Y.) was tagged with the loss giving up 15 hits and six walks for the Eagles.

The Johnson offense was paced by freshman centerfield Amber McCullock (Morrisville, Vt.) who went 4-for-4 with three runs scored  and two stolen bases while Morgan Rogerson (Hardwick, Vt.) and Tanya Randall (Fryeburg, Maine) each went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.

GAME 2:  Green Mountain 3, Johnson 1

Game two of the doubleheader featured a pitching duel between Green Mountain's Lord and Johnson's Caitlin Mackey (St. Albans, Vt.).  Lord would earn the win allowing just one earned run over seven innings and striking out one while Mackey was the tough-luck loser striking out five and allowing three earned runs on nine hits and four walks.

Green Mountain pushed two runs across in the first inning on a double by Paul scoring Kristin Belessis (Augusta, N.J.) and Lord and made it stand up for the win.  Paul would finish the game 2-for-3 with three RBI while Lord went 3-for-4 with the run scored.

Mackey tried to help herself going 2-for-3 at the plate, scoring a run, and stealing a base.

Johnson had runners on second and third in the bottom of the seventh but Lord as able to induce a pop-up Paul at thirdbase to end the threat.
