Vermont State University Johnson continued play at the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Training Tournament on Wednesday, February 25, falling to Louisburg College in a two‑game doubleheader in Myrtle Beach, SC.

SUMMARY

The Badgers battled through their spring tournament action but ultimately dropped both contests to the Louisburg Hurricanes, falling 12-0 in Game 1 and 11-3 in Game 2.

In the opener, Johnson's scoring opportunity came in the fourth inning when senior Audrey Tembreull displayed patience at the plate and worked a walk before Louisburg closed out the 12-0 decision.

The Badgers responded with poise in Game 2, driving three runs home and putting runners in scoring position. The Badgers showed their composure in the fourth when first‑year Peyton Niles opened with a walk, followed by back-to-back walks from Madyson Stingle and Audrewy Tembreull. sparked momentum by drawing a walk to open the fourth inning, followed by back‑to‑back walks from Madyson Stingle and senior Audrey Tembreull, loading the bases with no outs. Though the Badgers were unable to drive these runners across, they capitalized on the opportunity in the sixth.

The sixth inning marked Johnson's current offensive highlight of the tournament. Nikki Sweet drew a leadoff walk, with Stingle following with a sharp single to push Sweet into scoring position. Pitcher Hannah Corvino then earned a walk to load the bases, setting up Tembreull for the first runners in scoring postition opportunity of the afternoon. Tembreull delivered the biggest swing of the day, a bases‑clearing triple, driving in Sweet and Stingle to cut into the Hurricanes' lead. Next to bat, Senior Kristie Zator popped a sac fly to score Corvino.

Despite the late surge, Louisburg held on for the 11–3 win.
