Lady Badgers Win 4th Straight, 69-37 Over Bay Path

Jen Ferrari recorded her fifth double-double in six games scoring 28 points and grabbing 16 rebounds and Jenessa Swainbank scored 14 points off the JSC bench to lead the Badgers to their fourth straight win

 

JOHNSON, Vt. (December 4, 2010) -  The Johnson State College Lady Badgers won their fourth consecutive game on Saturday by defeating visiting the Bay Path College Wildcats 69-37 at Carter Gym.  Johnson State (4-2 overall, 0-0 North Atlantic Conference) held Bay Path (0-7, 0-0 New England Collegiate Conference) to 22% shooting on the night and forced 30 turnovers en route to the non-conference victory.

 

Johnson sophomore Jen Ferrari (Westfield, Mass./Westfield) had a big night with 28 points and 16 rebounds, her fifth double-double this season in six outings.  Ferrari went 12-of-21 from the field and also recorded three steals.  Freshman Jenessa Swainbank (Enosburg Falls, Vt./Enosburg) came off the Badger bench to score 14 points and junior Andrea Deuell (Milton, Vt./Milton) had an outstanding all-around game with 10 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, and five steals.

 

Bay Path saw junior Janise Shabazz (New Castle, Dela./William Penn) lead the way offensively with eight points and 12 rebounds.  Brittany Alexander (Enfield, Conn./Fermi) added seven points and eight rebounds for the Wildcats.

 

Johnson used a 15-1 run out the halftime break to turn a 36-21 lead into a comfortable 53-22 margin and cruise to the win.

 

Johnson State will now play at Norwich University on Tuesday, December 7 at 7:00 pm while Bay Path moves on to clash with Green Mountain College at home on December 9 at 8:00 pm.
