Lady Badgers Win 3rd Straight
Sophomore Catlyn Hughes recorded her first career double-double on Wednesday night in the Badgers third consecutive win, a 64-52 decision over St. Joseph (Vt.)
JOHNSON, Vt. (November 30, 2010) - Johnson State College pulled away in the second half to earn their third consecutive victory over visiting College of Saint Joseph (Vt.) by the score of 64-52 on Wednesday in Carter Gymnasium. The Badgers, leading by only four at the half, used a spurt out of the halftime break to push the lead to 11 and earn non-conference women's basketball win.
Johnson State saw sophomore forward Jennifer Ferrari (Westfield, Mass./Westfield) toss in 19 points and grab 11 rebounds to lead the charge while sophomore Catlyn Hughes (Canterbury, CT/Griswold) had her first career double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds and sophomore (Andrea Deuell (Milton, Vt./Milton) added 12 points to round out the badgers.
College of Saint Joseph was led by Brittany Garrow (Rutland, Vt.) with her 19-point effort followed by teammate Grace Amato (Woodstock, VT) who scored 12 points for the Saints.
Johnson State will next play at home on Saturday against another non-conference foe in Bay Path College at 1:00 pm while St. Joseph (Vt.) will not play again until Tuesday, December 7 at 5:30 when they travel to Lyndon State College.
