JOHNSON, Vt. - Johnson State College women's basketball first-year student-athlete Mary Richardson (Vernon, Vt./Brattleboro) has been named North Atlantic Conference Rookie of the Week.

Richardson averaged 21.5 points and six rebounds per contest in an 0-2 week for the Lady Badgers while also shooting 77% (10-13) from the free throw line in the set of games.

Richardson, a health science major, scored 22 points and had six boards in a 79-62 home loss to SUNY Canton on November 20.  She followed that up with a 21-point, six-rebound outing in a 68-41 road loss at Norwich on November 25.

The 5'5" guard is currently leading Johnson in scoring (18.2 ppg) and rebounding (5.8 rpg) while also averaging 2.0 steals and 1.0 assist per game.  Richardson has also been strong at the free throw stripe where is currently shooting 80% (16-20).

Richardson and the Badgers, now 1-3 overall, will face Vermont Technical College at home on Tuesday, November 27 in their next contest.
