Thomas College pulled away in the second half to hand the Badgers a 60-47 setback on Tuesday night.
SUMMARY
Johnson opened Tuesday's Thomas matchup strong, trading baskets early and trailing just 19-13 after the first quarter thanks to a three-pointer from Kamryn Devero and layups by Jaylah Jones and Abbie Hernandez. The Badgers stayed close in the second frame, cutting the deficit to five on a Jones drive and Hernandez free throws, but Thomas answered with a 10-3 run and a late three to take a 31-26 lead into halftime.
The third quarter saw Johnson fight back behind Kristie Zator's back-to-back threes, trimming the margin to two at 34-32. However, Thomas responded with a decisive 13-3 run, closing the period ahead 47-35.
In the fourth, Johnson continued to battle—Emily Ward hit a jumper, Jones buried a three, and Hernandez knocked down a deep triple after a steal by Faith Benjamin—but Thomas ultimately sealed the outcome, 60-47.
