BENNINGTON, Vt. - The Johnson State College Badgers defeated non-conference in-state foe in the Southern Vermont College Mountaineers 6-0 Tuesday on Everett Field. Six different Badgers scored in the game.  Johnson State improves to 6-3 overall, 1-1 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) while the Mountaineers fall to 0-9.

Southern Vermont held JSC at bay for 18 minutes before freshman Stephanie Fay (Essex Junction, Vt./Essex) knocked it past Catrina Cecchini in the top left corner of the frame on a nice pass from senior Samantha Cutting (Rochester, Vt./Rochester).

Two unassisted goals from junior Crystal Greene (Springfield, Vt./Springfield) and freshman Jen Ferrari (Westfield, Mass./Westfield) in the 36th and 45th minutes gave the Badgers a 3-0 lead. Only a minute later freshman Kelsie Perdue (Barre, Vt./Spaulding) took a nifty pass from Kyleigh Joseph (Hancock, N.H./Hancock) and hit the back of the frame to make it 4-0.

The Mountaineers held JSC until the 69th minute when sophomore Ally Bataille (Waterbury, Vt./Harwood) kicked it over the reaching arms of Cecchini on an unassisted effort. The Badgers last score came in the 74th minute when sophomore Christen Harrington (Cambridge, Vt./Lamoille) knocked in a nice pass from Bataille to make it 6-0.

Cecchini was impressive throughout for SVC making an eye-popping 31 saves while winning keeper Jes Gertsch (East Haven, Conn./East Haven) did not record a save.
