Men's and Women's Soccer Fall at Thomas

Both Soccer Teams Defeated 1-0 at Thomas

October 17, 2010, Waterville, ME  - Both the Johnson State men's and women's soccer team were defeated by North Atlantic Conference foe Thomas College 1-0 in back to back games.  The Terriers Arian Kumlangngam (Winslow, ME) netted her ninth goal of the season in the 12pm game. In the men's match Edwin Reyes (Dallas, TX) was able to connect on a free kick from outside the top of the penalty box to take the 1-0 lead.

 

Kumlangngam score 15 minutes into the game off of an Amy Grivois (Presque Isle, ME) assist. The goal would be the only one of the day.  First Year Goal Keeper Kate Thibodeau (Woolwich, ME) made three saves against three shots on goal. Johnson State Goal Keeper Amber McCullock (Morrisville, Vt.) made eight saves against nine shots on goal.

 

Reyes came off the bench to strike a goal for the Terriers 33 minutes into the game on a free kick outside the top of the penalty box. Thomas goal keeper Mikkail Crockwell (Bermuda) made six saves against six shots on goal.  Johnson State goal keeper Sam Martin (Essex, Vt./Essex) had five saves against six shots on goal.

 

The Johnson men will travel to Lyndon State College on Wednesday, October 20 for a 3:30 pm start while the women will also plat at LSC but on Thursday at the same time.

 

On the Thomas side, the women's soccer team will be back in action on Tuesday, October 19th when thy face University of Maine Farmington. The men will face UMF as well on Wednesday, October 20th.
