JOHNSON, Vt. - Johnson State College Athletics is proud to announce the hiring of Kristin Cannon as Head Women's Soccer Coach. Cannon was hired this summer as the College's coordinator of student-athlete development and served as the assistant women's soccer coach in the 2012 season helping lead the Badgers to a 6-9-2 overall record, 2-5-2 in the North Atlantic Conference. Cannon replaces Ray Campanile who resigned following the 2012 season.
Prior to her joining Johnson Athletics Cannon completed her Master's Degree in Sports Management at Springfield College and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Marketing/Psychology at Assumption College where she was a four-year standout on the soccer field for the Greyhounds. Cannon completed teaching fellowships at Springfield while also assisting both the Assumption and Springfield women's soccer programs in all aspects including recruiting, training, scouting, compliance, fundraising, and more.
While at Assumption Cannon was not only a 2nd Team All-Region and 2nd Team All-Academic selection as a senior, and 1st Team All-Region as a junior, but was also named the recipient of the College's Reverend Desautels Memorial Award as the premier female senior student-athlete. Cannon helped lead the Greyhounds to as high as #3 in the NCAA Division II national rankings and led them to a pair of NCAA Division II Tournament "Sweet 16" births. Cannon was a 1st Team All-Northeast 10 player as a junior and a senior and remains tied atop the all-time list at Assumption for games played and started.
In addition to her role as coordinator of student-athlete development at Johnson, Cannon has experiences organizing community service and marketing and promotions initiatives for student-athlete's while also assisting with academic monitoring and progress during her time both at Springfield and Assumption. In addition Cannon has volunteered for both the Special Olympics and National Girls and Women in Sport Day.

We take great pride in our efforts not only while competing, but in the classroom and in the community. We will continue to provide a challenging yet rewarding environment to help these players flourish on the field and as lifelong leaders.
