Johnson State College Women's Soccer Earns 2013 Silver Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award

The Johnson State women's soccer team was awarded the 2013 National Soccer Coaches of America (NSCAA) Silver Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award for completing the 2013 season without accruing any red cards and without earning more than five yellow cards.

In all, 256 teams received either the Gold, Silver or Bronze version of the College Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award, which recognizes teams that exhibit fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the laws of the game, as reflected by the number of yellow caution cards or red ejection cards they are shown by referees throughout the season.

A total of 159 teams claimed the Silver Award, which is given to teams that accumulate no red cards and a maximum of five yellow cards, while the Bronze Award went to 72 teams, which is presented to teams that receive no reds and a maximum of 10 yellows.

Gold: No cards accumulated during the season

Silver: No red cards and no more than five yellow cards accumulated during the season

Bronze: No more than 10 cards accumulated during the season
