Women' Soccer Headed to NAC 2014 Playoffs

Johnson State has earned the sixth place seed for the 2014 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women's soccer championship, which begins with quarterfinal matchups on campus sites Sunday, November 2.

Colby-Sawyer (11-5-1 overall) claimed the top seed in the conference tournament after compiling a perfect 9-0 record in NAC play and will earn a bye in Sunday's quarterfinal round. Second-seeded Castleton (11-6-1 overall, 7-1-1 NAC) will also earn a bye in the quarterfinals.

Husson (10-7, 7-2) claimed the No. 3 seed, while UMaine-Farmington (8-8-1, 5-3-1), New England College (11-5-3, 4-2-3), and Johnson State (8-8-1, 3-5-1) earned the No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 seeds respectively to complete the six-team tournament field.

Two quarterfinal contests will be played on Sunday, as No. 3 seed Husson will host No. 6 seed Johnson State and No. 4 seed UMaine-Farmington will host No. 5 seed New England College. Quarterfinal game times will be released at a later date.

Quarterfinal winners will advance to the semifinal round which will be played on Wednesday, November 5. Top-seeded Colby-Sawyer will host the winner of the UMaine-Farmington vs. New England College quarterfinal, while No. 2 seed Castleton will host the winner of the Husson vs. Johnson State quarterfinal contest. Semifinal game times will be released at a later date.

Semifinal winners will square off for the conference championship on Saturday, November 8, at a time to be determined at the site of the higher seed.

 

The NAC Champion will receive an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship.
