POSITION:  Setter

THE PERFORMANCE(s):  VanEtten was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Newbury College Invitational Tournament on Saturday and led Johnson to their first win of the season over visiting Unity College on Sunday.  VanEtten has been the sparkplug for the program in its two+ year existance and it continued last weekend.  The junior setter had 30 assists, 21 digs, nine kills, and seven service aces at the Newbury Tournament where the Badgers went 0-4.  In JSC's win over Unity on Sunday VanEtten was everywhere recorded 17 assists, 12 digs, three service aces, and two kills.  Johnson won a thriller 3-2 (25-18, 19-25, 25-18, 24-26, 15-13).

VANETTEN SAYS:  "It was an incredible growing, learning, challenging, and fun experience for each of us individually and more than anything as a team!.  Our time at Newbury was a learning experience for our team and we improved from match to match with our ability to move to the ball for the dig, set up different attacks for the kill, and our overall attitude on court!  As we left Boston, we knew we worked hard and believed that it would pay off on Sunday!"

"We played together and wanted this game so badly that it seemed we would do anything to make certain that the ball was going to go over the net!  Overall on Sunday, we brought with us positive attitude, our learning experience from the weekend, our newly developed skills and abilities, and each other.  We played together and wanted the game bad enough to get some!  We talked it out on the court, set it up, and put it down!"
