The Johnson Badgers Women's Volleyball team swept UMaine Fort Kent 3-0 in Saturday's matchup.
SUMMARY
Vermont State Johnson earned a straight-set victory over the University of Maine Fort Kent, showcasing dominant offensive play and a balanced team effort on defense. Senior Max Ludlow led the Badgers with 13 points, while Alana Lewis anchored the defense with 11 digs and 5 aces. Setter Delaney Gross directed the offense with 15 assists.
The Badgers opened the match with a strong first set, using a 6-point run from Lewis to build momentum. Kills from Tatum Kalahiki and Sierra Reed helped Johnson pull away, closing the set 25-14.
In the second set, Fort Kent jumped out to a 6-0 lead, but Johnson responded with a dominant stretch behind Gross's setting and Lewis's serving. Hansen and Lepega-Telona added key kills, and the Badgers closed the set 25-15.
The would-be final set was most competitive, including three ties and two lead changes, with Johnson ultimately pulling ahead late with a string of aces from Lewis and Kalahiki. Ludlow sealed the match with a final kill before completing the 25-22 sweep.
