  • Johnson Stumbles in Round One of Playoffs

    Top-seeded Husson University softball earned the right to host the 2014 NAC Softball Championships from Friday, May 2 to Sunday, May 4. The tournament was set in a six team double elimination format, and Husson kicked off the day with a 10 AM game on Friday against the sixth seeded Johnson State Badgers.

    The Johnson state softball team split a pair of non-conference matches (6-1 W, 7-1L) against Clarkson University on Friday at Johnson State College. Johnson State moves to 6-13 on the season and 5-2 in the NAC while Clarkson now stands 2-20 on the year.

    The Johnson State College Softball team hosted the Husson University Eagles in their final regular season game on the season on April 29th at Minaert Fields. The Eagles swept the Badgers taking the first game, which was halted due to weather on April 13th, 23-0 and the second game 17-1.

    Maine Maritime dropped a pair of North Atlantic Conference games to Johnson State in a softball double-header Saturday. The Badgers won the first game 5-4 in eight innings and took the nightcap 4-3. Johnson State improved to 4-10 overall, 4-0 NAC, while the Mariners fell to 2-10, 0-6.

    In a rescheduled North Atlantic Conference (NAC) softball match-up the Johnson State College Badgers swept in-state foe, Lyndon State 7-1 and then 9-7. Johnson State improves to 2-10-8 on the year and 2-0 in the NAC while Lyndon slides to 1-13 overall and 0-2 in the conference.
