Women’s Volleyball Splits Doubleheader to Wrap Vermont Volleyball Classic

The Badgers Women's Volleyball team returned to Norwich University for the Vermont Volleyball Classic, splitting a doubleheader against Lyndon (W: 3-0) and Castleton (L: 3-0).

SUMMARY

Johnson opened Sunday's competition with what reflected a stalemate through a score of 14-14, until a 12-3 run saw the Badgers take the first set against Lyndon 25-17. The Badgers capitalized on the momentum by opening set two 8-1, highlighted by five consecutive aces by senior, Max Ludlow. Senior teammate, Alana Lewis, would follow suit with three consecutive aces of her own, leading Johnson to a 25-14 second set win, before taking the match in a decisive 25-12 final set for the sweep.

Returning to the court against Castleton saw Johnson log their first loss of the season, dropping straight sets. The Badgers found themselves in an early hole to open each set, unable to find their way out for each. Though each set resulted in a loss, the Badgers found their rhythm as they progressed, ultimately scoring 25-15, 25-15, 25-12.
