Before NVU-Johnson... Durden was a 1st place European champion in the discus, 1st regional Virginia 3A champion in the discus, 3rd overall in the state of Virginia for 3A high school discus, MVP for track and field, academic silver honor roll, torch club, and keystone club. Off the playing surface Durden was also the Vice President of the schools Art Club and a member of the African American History Club.

Personal: Majoring in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Restorative Justice at NVU Johnson.
